Religion

Religion

Instruction in Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and Christian values is given daily.

Attendance and participation at Mass, daily morning prayer, and para-liturgical celebrations help nurture the students’ spiritual growth and development.

Sacramental Preparation

Religion is taught on a daily basis. Students in grade two may receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist in the second semester. Sacramental preparation regulations can be obtained from the CCE office. Students in other grades wishing to receive these sacraments for the first time contact the CCE office.

Confirmation will be received during the high school years following proper preparation.

Parents are required to participate in a program of preparation and, along with their child, must show a proper understanding of the sacraments.

Liturgical Celebrations

Children participate in the celebration of the Eucharist weekly. Paraliturgies are conducted when circumstances prevent the celebration of Mass. Special Feast Days and commemorations of special events in the Church are celebrated by the entire school. Daily prayers in the classroom and during the morning announcements are a part of the religion program.
