St. Jerome Catholic School is an equal opportunity, fully accredited school, housing grades Pre-K through 8th.

St. Jerome Catholic School admits all students to the rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to the student body.

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its admission, loan, athletic, or scholarship programs. Admission is based on individual evaluation. All information must be received in order for the application to be considered. After the registration steps are completed, parents will be notified if the student has/has not been accepted.

The school adheres to the policies stipulated by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

The following policies have been formulated in relation to student admissions:

  • Students entering St. Jerome Catholic School must be qualified by their previous studies to pursue the course of studies they are electing.
  • Students are expected to have a record of good standing from the school from which they transfer.
  • All new students are admitted on a probationary basis.
  • Admission of each student is a year-to-year contract.
  • Registration is an invitation of acceptance to return to St. Jerome Catholic School.

How To Apply

Registration for the school year 2023-2024 will begin on January 30, 2023.  The FACTS link will go live on that date.

Parents will have to create an account in order to enroll. Parents of current students wanting to re-enroll, please log in to your RenWeb account and click on Family Information, then click on Enrollment/Reenrollment to complete the process.

Create an Online Application

To begin the Online Application process, Create an Account. Then log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.

After submitting the application, you will be able to track online your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. There you will be able to print the completed applications, monitor when the school receives supplemental application forms and, if necessary, reprint the supplemental forms.

New Students-REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Original Birth Certificate (Please bring original when applying)
  2. Baptismal Certificate (If Catholic)
  3. First Eucharist Certificate (If Catholic)
  4. Most Recent Report Card
  5. Most Recent Achievement Test Scores
  6. Completed Health History Form
  7. Signed Release of Records Form (This goes to your child’s current school. For grades 1-8 only)
  8. Current Court Order or Decree of Custody/Conservation (if applicable)
  9. Two Teacher Recommendation Forms and/or PreK-Kindergarten forms. (These forms should be mailed or faxed directly to St. Jerome Catholic School by current homeroom or core subject teachers).

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

In order for every student to be protected from communicable disease and to be able to participate in the school programs, The Texas Department of State Health Services has established minimum immunization requirements.  All new and returning students admitted to a Catholic School in the State of Texas are required to furnish a copy of their most recent updated immunization record to the school office before they may enter school on the first day. All immunizations must be up to date by the 1st day of school. Download an immunization checklist here.

Incoming 7th graders must abide by revised immunization requirements that take effect at the beginning of the school year. The following are the changes being implemented:

  • Booster dose of tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis containing vaccine for entry into 7th grade, if at least 5 years has passed since the last dose of a tetanus-containing vaccine.  (or when 5 years from last dose has passed)
  • Meningococcal vaccine – 1 dose for entry into 7th grade
  • Varicella Vaccine – 2 doses of varicella vaccine received on or after the 1st birthday for entry into 7th grade

PLACEMENT TESTING FOR NEW STUDENTS

If applying to grades 1-8, the placement test is one tool used in determining acceptance. The Principal will make the decision if testing is needed.  If deemed necessary, scheduling for placement testing will be done at the time your paperwork is submitted. There is a $50.00 non-refundable fee for testing. This fee is payable, in cash, when you register for your child’s testing date.

AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSIONS

Pre-K4: 4 years of age by September 1, 2023
Kindergarten: 5 years of age by September 1, 2023
1st Grade: 6 years of age by September 1, 2023
2nd – 8th Grade: Successful completion of the previous grade level

Preference for enrollment will be given to current SJCS families and active parishioners.
