They also help students develop a sense of healthy competition and sportsmanship.

At St. Jerome, we encourage students to get involved in one of our many after-school athletic teams.

Students in grades 5-8 may play on school-sponsored athletic teams which include:

• Soccer
• Volleyball
• Basketball
• Track & Field

St. Jerome also provides students in Pre-K through 5th grades the unique opportunity to play on sports teams with their classmates. We are members of the West Houston Christian Sports Association and provide the following:

• Fall Soccer (Pre-K to 5th grades)
• Winter Basketball (1st to 5th grades)
• Spring Baseball/Softball (Pre-K to 5th grades)

Field Trips Are Primarily An Educational And Cultural Experience And Are Planned By The St. Jerome Catholic School Teachers.

Field trips align with the curriculum and are age and developmentally-appropriate. Teachers will communicate all field trip information to parents, including dates, locations, transportation information, and fees. Permission slips are required for all field trips. Chaperones may be needed for field trips and are selected by the sponsoring teacher. All chaperones must have current safe environment training and a current and cleared background check.

Learning And Development Extend Beyond The Classroom.

National Junior Honor Society, Scouting, Dance, Prep Bowl, and Choir are areas in which students can participate and grow.

Sports* – Students in PK-5th grades may participate in the West Houston Christian Association and play on St. Jerome teams with their classmates. 5th-8th grade boys and girls may play on St. Jerome teams and will compete with other teams in the archdiocese.

St. Jerome has an active Boy Scout troop, who participate in many different activities throughout the school year, both on and off campus.

Prep Bowl is open to middle school students. St. Jerome is proudly represented at various competitions around the Houston area. Many awards are won by this group of outstanding students!

Math Club is open to middle school students. These students help tutor their peers and will compete in academic mathematics competitions around the city.

National Junior Honor Society-Academically qualifying junior high students may participate.
